Alexandra Tijerina grew up in Katy, Texas, a suburb of Houston, where she trained at Becky’s Academy of Dance under instructors Steven Boyd, Hannah Taylor-Kormondy, and Michelle Manzanales. She attended The University of Arizona under a full scholarship, where she recently graduated with a dual degree of a B.F.A in Dance with Honors and a B.A. in Philosophy with a Pre-Law Minor. While at UA, Alex studied and performed under the direction of Amy Ernst, Douglass Nielsen, Michael Williams, Sam Watson, Tammy Dyke-Compton, James Clouser, Melissa Lowe, and Liz George. She also performed works by Sherry Zunker and Larry Keigwin and toured professionally throughout China with Art.if.Act Dance Project. Alex also loves to teach dance. She has worked with Trendsetters Dance for the past 5 years, teaching and choreographing for dance schools all across Texas. Alex is so very happy and excited to begin her journey as a company member with Mosaic Dance Project.
